FAQ
Frequently asked questions
If your question isn't answered here, it's a good one to ask directly on the contact page.
What formats do you deliver in?
Final files are prepared to whatever specification your distributor requires. We'll confirm the exact format during the consultation once I know where you're publishing.
How does the production process work?
It starts with a consultation, followed by a review of your manuscript or existing audio, a scoped plan, chapter-by-chapter production and editing, quality control and mastering, and final delivery.
Can I provide my own narration?
Yes. Many projects start from narration you've already recorded, whether that's your own reading or a narrator you've hired.
What happens if I already have recorded audio?
I review the raw files first to check quality and scope, then build a plan around cleanup, editing, and mastering rather than starting from a blank recording.
Can you work from a manuscript?
Yes. If narration hasn't been recorded yet, we start from your manuscript and talk through pacing, tone, and narration direction before production begins.
Do I need to already have a narrator?
No. If you have narration recorded, I can work from that. If you don't yet, we can talk through narration direction as part of the process.
How long does production take?
It depends on the length of your book and the scope of work. You'll get a specific timeline as part of the scoped plan after the initial review.
Can you help prepare files for distribution?
Yes. Final files are prepared to the technical specification your distributor requires, whether that's a single platform or several.
Can I hear a sample before committing?
Yes. Send a chapter and I'll produce a short sample so you can hear the edited, mastered sound of your own book before moving forward.
How does the revision process work?
Revision passes are outlined in your scoped plan and vary by package. You review the finished chapters and flag anything you'd like adjusted before final delivery. See the Services page for typical starting points.
How do we get started?
Reach out through the contact form with a bit about your book. I'll follow up to schedule a consultation.
